Meet Kato:
Kato Isaac is one of our students at New Times Primary School. He joined us in his first year of primary. His father was a boda boda rider who died in an accident. While he was taking his wife for an antenatal check up on his bike, they got into an accident and he died on the spot. The wife who was 7 months pregnant with twins became unconscious and the only option the doctors had was to remove the twins. Unfortunately after a week, one of the twins died. The mother who had been in a coma for 2 full months later came back to normal only to be told that her husband and one of her twins had died.
Meet Nalongo:
The couple had two other girls who are now in secondary school and the twin who survived is Kato Isaac who is now at our school in primary 3. Isaac is a brilliant student but his mother is struggling with fees. She was a housewife before her husband’s passing, but has now switched to doing subsistence farming and sells Katogo on the street in the evening, washing people’s clothes and so on for survival. She was being assisted by her brother but he unfortunately died early this year.
JAM has helped me a lot…my children were out of school for one whole year but JAM gave my son Isaac a chance to be in school.
Nalongo is an inspirational woman doing the most she can for her family. While her toil is admirable it does make one weary. Struggle does make one strong but for how long? It’s hard for Nalongo. Will you join us in keeping Kato in school? This is just one of our stories. The statistics are overwhelming, but there are faces to every number, and there are brilliant minds waiting to be empowered with your help!
Meet JAM:
Juna Amagara Ministries is a Ugandan Christian Non-profit that seeks to save and transform lives through; God’s Word and Loving works amongst Children, Youth and Elderly People in Uganda. We as supporters of JAM Uganda strongly hold that loving looks like action, and faithfulness looks like contributing to the holistic flourishing through providing medical care and education services.
Meet you:
Will you consider joining us in financially supporting this work? Will you join us in being an encouragement to single mothers and widows like Nalongo? Most of our students have little to no support but all the passion and drive. Students bring firewood to our institutions in place of monetary contributions. While this speaks to their commitment to learning and education, it is not substantial for running organizations and ministries. Imagine how much more thriving if you join us.
You can be part of raising students that will absolutely make a difference. The needs and numbers are overwhelming but every single dollar counts. $35 dollars a month will keep Kato in school. Make a big donation or a small one, we promise you it goes a very very long way.
